Do it now before ‘later’ becomes ‘never’.
I’m a pre and post natal personal trainer, based in Highbury and Islington, working with mums-to-be and new mums on preparing them for birth and motherhood, and re-strengthening post-baby bodies.
Together we look not only at improving overall fitness but also techniques for de-stressing the body and building mental resilience – both much needed in the run-up towards birth and once the little one arrives.
The range of people I work with is vast – no one person is the same and I tend to work especially with repairing diastasis recti (stomach muscle separation) and strengthening pelvic floors.
I apply the same principles of The Warrior Method as I do with clients. However, depending on goals and personal preferences, we also incorporate:
- Core stability
- Natural Movement
Limited Personal Training sessions are available and babies are most welcome at sessions too.
As a mum, I’ve been there and know exactly what it’s like to work on fitness before and after pregnancy. I feel like there’s a lot of pressure for us to ‘bounce back’ to our pre-baby bodies and I’ve seen women jump into fitness classes which are completely unsuitable, often resulting in more damage than good to their bodies. I’m passionate about helping women exercise safely.

Personal Training FAQs
Where are PT sessions held?
There’s several options – we can do them at your house, (especially handy if you schedule in sessions whilst your little one naps,if you don’t have time or energy to get anywhere else, or if you just don’t like exercising in public), in one of the local parks (getting outside can feel so good), or at a private gym near Highbury & Islington.
There are some weeks where I’m away, is this ok?
Yes, absolutely! If you buy a pack of sessions, it’s totally fine to miss a week or two if you have work commitments or holidays. If you’re going on holiday or abroad and you don’t want to miss a session, another option is to do it over Skype. Or for me to join you.
What if I have my baby before I’ve used up all my pack of sessions during pregnancy?
No worries! Once you’ve had your 6 / 10 week GP sign-off, we can resume our sessions.
Do you also cover nutritional advice?
As a Personal Trainer, I’m not qualified to give nutritional advice. What we can do however, is keep a food diary and I can help you work out how to make tweaks to your eating and lifestyle habits for better results. I also have access to excellent nutritionists who I can put you in touch with.
What would we do in a typical PT session?
It all depends on where you’re at on your fitness journey and your goals. I always make sure we’ve got a good foundation to work from, so the first thing we’ll do is assess for any postural imbalances and weaknesses and work on releasing and strengthening those first. I always get functional movement patterns into every session, balance work and breathing. Sessions can also include pilates and yoga-style moves, high intensity moves, low intensity moves, boxing, circuits and more.
I’m so weak! Should I try and get fitter before we have PT sessions?
Personal training sessions don’t mean an absolute beasting! I’m here to make you stronger, not ruin you. We take things at a pace which is right for you and I’ll make sure you’re giving your best.
Will it involve running?
Running is something I think you can do in your own time. However, if you’re training for an event which requires running, then it’s possible it’ll involve it in some form. I don’t normally advise running until after six month post-partum and I’d also take into consideration pelvic floor strength, whether you’re breast-feeding and physical alignment.
My other half wants to get fit too – can they join in?
Sure thing! I also do couples training sessions. Message me for more information. There’s so much fun stuff we can do!
I can’t get childcare for my baby – can my little one be there too?
If you’re happy with it, and if it’s a safe environment for your little one to be there, then that’s fine. I’m also happy to hold little ones if it’s appropriate and safe for all.
When can we have sessions?
I’m a mum of two little feral beasties who aren’t at nursery or with their nanny every day, so my availability works around them. It’s best to get in touch to discuss timings.
How many sessions do I need?
How long is a piece of string? It depends where your end point is; some people want sessions until they feel confident they know how to adapt exercises for them, some people have a clear end goal, some want someone to give them a kick up the butt to get moving more, some want reassurance during a certain period of time that they’re doing the ‘right’ things… If you’re pregnant, most clients have sessions throughout pregnancy and normally up to nine months after.
How much does it cost?
1 session £85
12 sessions – £75 a session which works out at £900 (saving of £120)
24 sessions – £65 a session which works out at £1560 (saving of £240)
Can I try out a session first?
I don’t do free tasters. Instead, we’ll have a session under the one-off price and if you decide you’d like to invest in a bundle of sessions, I’ll deduct this amount from the total.
Ok, I’m interested, now what?
Drop me an email letting me know what you’re after and I’ll arrange to speak with you over the phone or in person. It’s important that you enjoy the style of training I specialise in and also that we have a good working relationship.
