I’m a pre and post natal personal trainer, based in Highbury and Islington, working with mums-to-be and new mums on preparing them for birth and motherhood, and re-strengthening post-baby bodies.
Together we look not only at improving overall fitness but also techniques for de-stressing the body and building mental resilience – both much needed in the run-up towards birth and once the little one arrives.
The range of people I work with is vast – no one person is the same and I tend to work especially with repairing diastasis recti (stomach muscle separation) and strengthening pelvic floors.
I apply the same principles of The Warrior Method as I do with clients. However, depending on goals and personal preferences, we also incorporate:
- Core stability
- Natural Movement
Limited Personal Training sessions are available and babies are most welcome at sessions too.
As a mum, I’ve been there and know exactly what it’s like to work on fitness before and after pregnancy. I feel like there’s a lot of pressure for us to ‘bounce back’ to our pre-baby bodies and I’ve seen women jump into fitness classes which are completely unsuitable, often resulting in more damage than good to their bodies. I’m passionate about helping women exercise safely.
