Thank You to The Little Health Company

    September 24, 2015 by elizaflynn

Top 25 health and fitness bloggers - eliza flynn

If it wasn’t enough that I’m having a fab time on my megamoon (writing whilst sitting on the idyllic Gili Meno, dressed in harem pants and a sarong that I’ve fashioned into a top) I have also been included in the Little Health Company’s ‘Top 25 UK Bloggers To Follow’ list. I got so excited…

    Target100000 - cervical cancer screening

According to GynaeHealthUK, over 5 million women in the UK are overdue their smear test. The main reasons for this? 75% of women claim to have had a bad experience during their smear test, with 26% saying the process is painful and 1 in 4 saying the doctor or nurse had problems finding their cervix….

Urban Massage: The Ultimate in R&R for busy Londoners

September 21, 2015 by elizaflynn Leave a Comment

    Urban Massage review

A massage in my own home? On one hand it sounded like the upmost luxury, on the other it felt invasive – the reason I like going for massages is because it’s a chance to get out my messy out and into a sanctuary. There was only one way to test this. I booked a…

Something Fun: Team GB’s Sport Profiler

August 10, 2015 by elizaflynn Leave a Comment

    Team GB Sports Profiler

My friends over at Fitness First have created a Sports Profiler to tell you which Olympic Sport you are. After answering a series of questions, such as whether you’re Ox-strong or not, it spits out the Olympic Sport you’d be best at. The questions cover skills such as strength, agility and power. It takes a few…

How does sleep affect your exercise?

    Time4Sleep Spring Fitness Challenge

Not getting enough sleep is something that I just associate with today’s lifestyle. We’re busy. So what? But it turns out, without frequent, good quality sleep we could be damaging our health and reducing our mental ability. Studies* have shown how lack of sleep can contribute to diabetes and obesity, as well as making our reaction…

Seven Seas Perfect7 Woman: Starting the Trial

    December 19, 2014 by elizaflynn 2 Comments

    Seven Seas Perfect7 Review

When 3 months worth of Seven Seas Perfect7 Woman* turned up at my door complete with literature talking about how it’s less about age and more about how old you feel, I felt like that was it – the game was over; I was officially old and the best I could do was to embrace…

    Oh hai there…

Eliza Flynn Blogger and personal trainer

I learnt the hard way that good health involves diet, exercise and a peaceful mind. I use my experience to help people feel more confident, in control and fitter. • Smile for the camera!
Er. Actually, don’t smile. Too scary.
.
Getting proper one on one time with HB is harder than getting a table at the amazing Japanese Korean restaurant down the road (do any of you guys know Dotori in Finsbury Park? If not, you’re seriously missing out. Get the prawn tempura.) You’re always hopeful and when you do get your opportunity it’s over all too quickly. HB and I sneak in snatches of precious moments, waiting for GD to sleep or for wonderful people to break their backs taking him off to practise his Bambi-like walking (it’s less back-breaky for me as my legs are so short ☺️) At the moment, @tjjgash is his favoured human so when he deigns to spend time with me, I’m damn well going to get all the cuddles and fun times in that I can. Unlike today - when he wanted to hang out with me just as he dropped a rather large and foul-smelling poo in his nappy. Thanks dude. You gross little monkey.
.
Anyone else have the same issues? That they miss the times they used to have with their eldest since the second came along?
    • Auntie Rosie! Hold my bottom!
.
Turns out @digitalflynn needs to work on her HB-carrying technique. Or maybe she just needs to work on her upper body strength... 😬

    • I’m not sure who was more excited at getting to go on the Merry-Go-Round. Since getting over my disappointment that HB isn’t the kind of kid who’ll happily wander about in an animal onesie (why else have kids if only to dress them up in ridiculous outfits?) I’ve found other ways to fulfil my childish aspirations. I’ve been trying to get HB onto a merry-go-round for AGES and this week he finally got excited about it!
.
With the Thames breeze in our hair and the beautiful sound of jangly music in our ears, along with HB’s delighted squeals of “IM RIDING A HORSE!!” we went round and round (at a much faster speed than I’d anticipated) until both of us felt quite dizzy and a little sick. .
NB. This is HB’s half excited / half ‘ok, I feel a little sick now’ face.
    • No words needed ☺️
    • Hung out with a few childhood favourites at @somersethouse earlier this week. The ferals favourite was the movie room - had to literally drag them out! GD mostly liked eating things he shouldn’t. Like my scarf. Hair. Beanbags. The usual 🤣
.
Thanks @digitalflynn and @heroic_knitting for a fabulous day out ❤️
    • My loves ❤️ and the ONLY photo we got as a family on holiday!
.
📷 Taken at Narumi, the Japanese restaurant at @hrhtenerife where we spent most of our evenings ☺️Couldn’t get enough of their udon!
    • I miss our holiday rituals. Like this one where we’d sneak ingredients in from the supermarket opposite our hotel, make cheese sandwiches for lunch and eat them by the kids pool or beach club. HB never got tired of cheese sandwiches. We never got tired of hearing him exclaim I LOVE CHEESE SANDWICHES at the top of his voice. And no, we weren’t allowed a nibble ☺️
